About The Position

The Manufacturing Innovation Engineer position will report directly to the Manufacturing Innovation Director and be primarily responsible for Key Process Indicator (KPI) development and reporting mechanisms for the battery manufacturing operations working closely with key internal stakeholders in Safety, Quality, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • This role may require travel, with reasonable prior notice (domestic and/or international).
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, Management or other related field
  • Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in performance metrics related to manufacturing
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE as deemed essential for the job function
  • Ability to work around the potential exposure to dust and chemicals
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience working within automotive or Tier 1 supply
  • Understand of KPI utilization within a TPS operating system or equivalent
  • Familiarity with IOT or Big Data systems
  • Experience in Battery manufacturing
  • Experience with inspection systems including vision, laser, CT and X-Ray
  • Experience in highly automated equipment

Responsibilities

  • Develop KPI reporting process and system
  • Implement standard dashboard for tracking and monitoring key KPI metrics
  • Implement continuous improvement tracking program
  • Work individually with department managers on key performance metrics
  • Champion the Samsung SDI Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and become a subject matter expert and mentor to other STARPLUS ENERGY leaders
  • Work with the Operations team to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven self-starter and motivator with capabilities to work within cross-functional teams
  • Ability to multi-task
