We’re currently hiring a manufacturing Group Leader for first shift that will be placed at one of our three Jackson MI locations. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
9–12 months of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience
Awareness of quality systems and standard procedures

Nice To Haves

Ability to direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance and quality
Several years’ experience operating various CNC machines including lathes and mills
Ability to read prints and gages
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow quality systems
Proven ability to perform with focus and accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong work ethic and attendance, with consistent reliability and accountability

Responsibilities

Oversee daily activities of production floor to maximize scheduling and real-time utilization of resources; analyze and recommends employee mix for optimum personnel use.
Interfaces with Quality, Engineering, Programming, Barstock and Maintenance departments to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on areas which require improvement, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases.
Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure that total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Enacts contingency plans as needed; escalates and directs activities during systems problems, disasters, etc.; identifies potential problems, troubleshoots, communicates issues to upper management, and participates in post analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency.
Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
Implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and equipment.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the company.
Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives and provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisors.
Identifies and develops individuals for future advancement.
Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
