About The Position

You will be the Manufacturing Equipment Mechanic for the Missiles and Fire Control facilities team. Our team is responsible for all facilities related activities at the Orlando facility. As the Manufacturing Equipment Mechanic, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: analyzing malfunctions and making necessary repairs of the mechanical portions of non-Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment and maintaining such systems. You will determine and perform the repair and maintenance operations necessary to restore normal operation, including major overhauls on involved machine tools, fabricating machines, and welding equipment such as hydraulic presses, radial drill presses, jig borers, milling machines, boring mills, shear, punch presses, pumps, and equipment of similar complexity. You will also perform repair and maintenance operations on exhaust and ventilating fans.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 Years practical experience or qualified educational certification equivalent as a mechanic in a manufacturing/machine tool environment.
  • Ability to independently operate hand and power equipment necessary for the job.
  • Basic computer skills to access maintenance work order systems and perform company training.
  • Ability to work alone without direction or supervision.
  • Must be able to work on a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
  • Must be able to wear safety glasses, shoes, and gloves as required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze malfunctions and make necessary repairs of mechanical portions of non-CNC equipment.
  • Determine and perform repair and maintenance operations necessary to restore normal operation.
  • Perform major overhauls on machine tools, fabricating machines, and welding equipment.
  • Examine equipment while in operation for defects or faulty operation.
  • Determine proper method of dismantling machinery to gain access to trouble discovered.
  • Use a variety of mechanic's tools to perform disassembly required.
  • Ascertain cause of trouble and obtain replacement parts.
  • Set up and operate various machine tools to perform machining operations.
  • Check replacement parts for proper dimensions using precision measuring instruments.
  • Reassemble equipment, operate and test for proper operations.
  • Perform scheduled operations such as oiling and greasing machines and mechanical equipment.
  • Study blueprints, bills of material, sketches, and specifications to plan operations.
  • Check for excessive wear in pulleys, bearings, and/or shafts.
