About The Position

The position is responsible for designing production paint and sealer equipment from a design concept to a completed design that meets the design requirements and the project schedules. Production equipment that is used to manufacture Honda products.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of 3D CAE systems and software including analysis and simulation.
• Background in automated paint and sealer equipment development/design.
• Knowledge of automated production lines and machines.
• Technical communication skills (both written and oral).

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Designer of automated production equipment responsible for designing tooling and machines to be used in Honda's paint production facilities.
• Achieve project milestones and maintain the project schedule for all responsible work.
• Mentor and support an Engineering Team to support the creation of equipment design requirements and development of concepts.
• Perform Quality Check of drawings.
• Support of overall unit initiatives and business plan goals.
• Prepare design review documentation, schedule design review and present to technical evaluators.
• Demonstrate the design meets the design and project requirements.
• Provide on-site manufacturing support for install, system up, and maturation of the production equipment for completed designs.
