The Industrial Power Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician I position in Seguin, TX. As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician I, you will perform the duties associated and assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering team. You will provide technical support through data analysis, problem solving, and Caterpillar Production Systems (CPS). Your role will involve coaching and providing support to process improvement teams, as well as giving feedback to team leaders, including action plan follow-up, the use of six-sigma and lean manufacturing methodology, and the application of CPS. In this position, you will identify and track key metrics related to your assigned department or function, and identify process improvement opportunities through continuous review of plant operations to keep the team focused on key priorities and improvement objectives. You will also provide follow-up and tracking for process improvement accomplishments to ensure that improvements are sustained. Performing audits to ensure materials, processes, and tools conform to quality standards will be part of your responsibilities, as well as submitting and assisting with the resolution of CPS Continuous Improvement cards. You will follow standard operating procedures and area-specific work instructions, provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within your assigned area, and lead and facilitate small business team activities within your work area. Additionally, you will investigate and resolve engineering-related line calls, lead investigations into manufacturing engineering process defects, and support quality improvement initiatives. Participation in engineering activities for Standard Work and Failure Mode Analysis (such as sFMEA and pFMEA) will also be required, along with representing Manufacturing Engineering at small business team meetings and editing work instructions for assembly as directed by the Manufacturing Engineers.
