Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers and have good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, providing guidance on technical challenges and professional development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate training programs to enhance team skills.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and assembly procedures for machine building operations.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and jigs to improve assembly efficiency and product quality.
  • Lead process validation and capability studies to ensure manufacturing readiness.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of new machine designs.
  • Support new product introductions from prototype through full production.
  • Manage engineering change orders and ensure proper documentation and implementation.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S implementation throughout the facility.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for quality and production issues.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for manufacturing operations.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining or improving quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve complex manufacturing and assembly challenges.
  • Review and approve fabrication drawings, assembly procedures, and quality control plans.
  • Support production floor with troubleshooting and real-time problem solving.
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.
