Discover Impactful Work: The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor provides leadership and technical direction to a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to ensure product quality, process efficiency, and operational excellence. This role partners closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to identify and implement process improvements, reduce waste, optimize equipment utilization, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. A day in the Life: Leadership & Team Development Supervise, mentor, and cultivate a group of engineers and technicians, guaranteeing alignment with site objectives and performance measures. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement consistent with Thermo Fisher’s 4-I values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. Operational & Technical Excellence Lead the evaluation, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment to optimize production performance. Oversee troubleshooting and technical support on the shop floor to resolve issues impacting throughput, yield, or quality. Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and validation records. Manage and approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and support new product introduction (NPI) from concept through production readiness. Continuous Improvement Drive lean manufacturing and PPI (Practical Process Improvement) initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve quality, and eliminate waste. Identify and justify capital investments that improve efficiency or product quality. Keys to Success: Proven leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and inclusion. Ability to drive projects to successful completion while maintaining strict quality standards. Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a passion for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of progressive engineering experience in a production setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, equipment qualification, and production support.
  • Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing different projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
