About The Position

You will be the Manufacturing Engineering Senior Manager for the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Line of Business. Our team is responsible for shaping and driving the manufacturing engineering strategy for a portfolio of lower and upper tier defense product lines. What You Will Be Doing As the Manufacturing Engineering Senior Manager you will be responsible for leading a multi‑tier team that develops, supports, scales, and continuously improves production systems for high‑reliability flight hardware. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Define and execute long‑term manufacturing strategies, capability roadmaps, and capital investment plans aligned with program and enterprise objectives. Serve as the primary manufacturing engineering interface to program leadership, internal & external customers, and executive stakeholders. Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing manufacturing engineering organization supporting multiple production programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in a technical discipline (e.g., EE, ME, CE).
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • Leadership & Cross Functional Coordination: Proven experience leading/liaising with multi‑disciplinary teams (production, manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain) to drive programs from development through production.
  • Program Development & Design to Manufacturing Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage development programs, transition them to production, and apply design for manufacturing / design to cost principles.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical/process issues of varying complexity.
  • Communication & Relationship Management: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to build lasting relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel domestically as needed, with occasional (infrequent) international travel only when required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Nice To Haves

  • Design for Automation & Automated Manufacturing Processes: Proven ability to create product designs that enable fully automated production lines.
  • Additive Manufacturing Expertise: Knowledge of AM processes, materials, and practical applications.
  • Model Based Engineering & Digital Manufacturing Environment: Experience with model‑based engineering tools, configuration management, and digital work instruction systems (e.g., Windchill PLM).
  • CAD & PLM Proficiency: Advanced skill in CAD software and familiarity with Windchill PLM (or comparable platforms).
  • Cost & Earned Value Management: Background as a System Cost Account Manager or equivalent, including proposal development, cost estimating, and earned value tracking.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Methodology: Green or Black Belt certification and practical application of lean principles to improve process efficiency.
  • Government Customer Experience: Direct experience working with federal/government programs and stakeholders.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, develop training/upskilling plans, and mentor personnel.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences, including written reports, presentations, and briefings.
  • Enterprise Systems Knowledge: Working knowledge of SAP MRP production control (or comparable ERP) and other manufacturing execution systems.
