The Manufacturing Engineer at GOJO is a pivotal role focused on enhancing operational effectiveness and efficiency within the supply chain. This position is based in Cuyahoga Falls and requires frequent travel to other locations in northeast Ohio. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, leading, and implementing engineering solutions aimed at optimizing manufacturing and distribution processes across the GOJO Network. This role demands a highly collaborative approach, working cross-functionally with various business units to drive operational excellence and meet project objectives. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing, logistics, and distribution processes. This includes enhancing performance, availability, quality, and achieving cost savings through material and labor efficiencies. The engineer will lead and manage engineering projects, whether in capital execution or ongoing continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring successful execution and delivery of project objectives. The Manufacturing Engineer will utilize industry-standard tools and methods such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. They will participate in or lead the redesign of equipment, facilities, and processes to reduce costs, increase throughput, and improve safety and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the engineer will prepare and present project reports, including capital requests, trends, and analysis related to manufacturing performance, process or equipment updates, budget analysis, and risk assessments to management and key stakeholders. Technical expertise is crucial in this role, as the Manufacturing Engineer will provide guidance for troubleshooting equipment, product, and process problems. They will determine root causes of failures and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods using statistical procedures. The engineer will also support the planning, execution, and maintenance of validation and cGMP documents for projects, ensuring that documentation is maintained accurately. Furthermore, the Manufacturing Engineer will lead technology transfer documentation and training for cGMP validation of new and modified products and processes. Project management skills are essential, as the engineer will coordinate project elements such as scope, schedule, budget, quality, human resources, communications, and risks, ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables. They will also provide technical advice, training, and mentoring to all GOJO employees, translating complex concepts into design specifications for manufacturing and delivery of equipment. This role is integral to specifying, designing, obtaining, and installing equipment and processes that meet GOJO's organizational needs.
