The Manufacturing Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering activities within the manufacturing and distribution facility, ensuring products meet quality standards, production schedules, and cost objectives. The Manager is a key member of the management team and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes and drive Operational Excellence initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering required. ME, IE, or EE preferred.
  • More than 8 years of engineering experience
  • 3-5 years engineering management experience
  • Mastery with the application of LEAN/CI tools
  • Experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks/SAP and Microsoft suite including MS Project
  • Strong written and verbal communications

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity and work experience in assembly and with CNC equipment
  • Extremely strong project management skills, particularly as it relates to tooling and equipment procurement/manufacturing.
  • Working experience in powder coating and equipment related to dispensing applications.

Responsibilities

  • Encompassing and overseeing project lifecycle from beginning to end, including project scope definition, cost forecasting, and timeline planning. These projects will aim to improve safety quality, efficiency, labor relations, cost management and customer satisfaction.
  • Define engineering strategy and build up engineering roadmap together with commercial, operational, and global engineering teams.
  • Ensures product manufacturing, processes, and projects are designed to be completed safely.
  • Ensures Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) are being reviewed and interpreted appropriately by the manufacturing engineering team and direction is being provided to production, QA, and the material groups to support these changes.
  • Works effectively as a member of the manufacturing management team to ensure operational metrics are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued.
  • Direct and control the engineering and technical operations of the organization in consultation with other line managers, engineering teams in other regions, and professionals to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety, and performance are observed and that time schedules are met.
  • Partner with the cross-functional nVision teams to ensure new products are delivered with high quality and to market on time and to budget.
  • Leads assigned groups and project teams on continuous improvement activities using lean concepts and tools.
  • Initiates, evaluates, and approves Standard Work Instructions and other documents as required.
  • Support valid layouts are maintained (plant & cell layouts, inventory, housekeeping, emergency, & security maps)
  • Ensures process observations are conducted by each manufacturing engineer within their assigned areas to ensure that assigned time standards are fair and consistent and manufacturing issues are identified and resolved.
  • New or replacement tooling design and manufacturing (both internal and external) and managing the timeline for tooling construction, tuning, development, testing, and approvals.
  • Direct work assignments, scheduling, and reviews of work in progress to ensure deliverables are achieved.
  • Handle personnel actions including performance reviews, salary recommendations, and coordination of training and development.
  • Other engineering-related activities as required by the company.
