About The Position

Dover Precision Components is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our Waukesha Bearings brand. Waukesha Bearings is a leading designer and manufacturer of hydrodynamic fluid film bearings, active magnetic bearing systems and seals for high-performing turbomachinery and rotating equipment in oil & gas, power generation, marine, military, and industrial markets. Our forward-thinking team is committed to leading the markets we serve through superior technology and operational excellence. This role is based at our manufacturing facility in Antigo. Wisconsin . Due to our government client, US Citizenship is required. WHAT YOU’LL DO In this role, you will lead the manufacturing engineering function to ensure safe, capable, and cost-effective production operations. This role owns engineering standards, process capability, capacity planning, and capital equipment strategy while developing and coaching manufacturing engineers who support daily operations and continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager partners with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to ensure manufacturing processes meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering- Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field or equivalent work experience undergoing education.
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environments (CNC-based preferred).
  • Experience leading/ supervising manufacturing engineers or technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling, and production systems.
  • Collaborative and cross-functional relationship management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at shop floor and leadership levels
  • Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Background in Continuous Improvement, preferably within a Lean Manufacturing facility.
  • ERP system experience, such as Syteline.
  • Proficiency with standard engineering and business software tools.
  • Our Antigo facility is under ITAR/UNNPI regulations, must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading capital equipment and automation projects.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification(s).
  • Experience with digital manufacturing systems and ERP-driven decision making.
  • Ability to lead changes and influence across functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team supporting machining, material flow, production, and maintenance operations.
  • Establish engineering standards for process documentation, routings, standard work, and change management.
  • Prioritize engineering resources to support operational stability, growth, and improvement initiatives.
  • Own manufacturing process capability, optimization, and capacity planning across assigned value streams.
  • Oversee equipment layout, material movement, and workflow design to maximize efficiency and utilization.
  • Ensure processes are designed, documented, and sustained to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Partner with Operations to review performance metrics and address gaps through engineering solutions.
  • Integrate safety and environmental considerations into process design, equipment selection, and tooling strategies.
  • Lead engineering risk assessments and safety kaizens to eliminate or reduce hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations and internal standards.
  • Lead and support capital expenditure (Capex) projects from concept through installation, validation, and handoff.
  • Evaluate and implement advanced CNC equipment, automation, tooling, and digital manufacturing technologies.
  • Ensure new equipment and processes are commissioned safely and achieve expected performance.
  • Ensure lean manufacturing principles are embedded in engineering practices and daily operations.
  • Sponsor and prioritize kaizen events and manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Lead process change management to ensure sustainable adoption and minimal operational disruption.
  • Partner with Design Engineering to ensure product designs align with manufacturing capability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve technical issues and improve performance.
  • Support supplier qualification and technical evaluations as needed.
