EOI Space is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to create and drive manufacturing of EOI spacecraft and components. This person will work with the Operations leadership to create efficient and repeatable processes to assemble all aspects of the spacecraft and its components in alignment with EOI’s mission objectives.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading production optimization, developing manufacturing processes for new products, and ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe operations. This role will help define processes, tooling, and documentation standards for spacecraft manufacturing, assembly, and integration, as well as complete day-to-day manufacturing activities, to meet program milestones.
This role requires an individual with a strong technical background and a willingness to learn, as the responsibilities bridge across many engineering disciplines. Additionally, in this role you should have strong interpersonal skills in coordinating with people, both internally and externally (e.g., fabrication vendors, test houses, etc.). This role requires that you be organized in order to progress multiple manufacturing efforts simultaneously and ensure their timely completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
• 5+ years of professional manufacturing engineering experience, with 3+ years focused on spacecraft/satellite applications
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (both written and verbal)
• Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated knowledge and use of ASME and aerospace engineering standards
• Familiarity with engineering best practices regarding aerospace, mechanical, structural design
• Experience with rapid prototyping and testing to verify proof-of-concept designs

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine manufacturing procedures to maximize efficiency (OEE), quality, and reduce scrap
• Plan, document, and support the implementation of manufacturing setups and procedures across multiple engineering disciplines
• Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues and perform RCCA accordingly
• Create, maintain, and train staff on, Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure safety/ISO compliance
• Work with subsystem Responsible Engineers (REs), program management, and mission assurance to align manufacturing activities with overall mission objectives
• Effectively prioritize tasks by coordinating with Operations Leadership to adhere to the overall program schedule
• Provide oversight and technical guidance by instructing pertinent staff on the proper handling of engineering and flight hardware
• Lead production readiness reviews and participate in design reviews to ensure operational readiness while optimizing the transition from design to production
