Requirements

  • BS degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in manufacturing engineering management role
  • In-depth product manufacturing comprehension including rationales and limitations
  • Expert working knowledge of manufacturing systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean philosophies and experienced in practicing those applications
  • 6 Sigma Green Belt certified, Black Belt is a plus.
  • Effective in project management, time management, and delegation
  • Typically manages multiple departments and/or shifts.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving business and team environment
  • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and process
  • Self-starter and highly motivated
  • Flexibility to travel to other internal and external sites, as needed (Domestic & International).
  • Fast paced work environment
  • Extensive use of computer equipment, and frequent telephone activity.
  • Periods of extended sitting, walking, and standing are required.
  • Activities such as bending and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by Company policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Compute and/or Network server/rack manufacturing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Coach and manage Process Engineers in developing and improving the manufacturing processes, procedures, and flow diagram for server and rack products.
  • Provide leadership for manufacturing engineers and responsible for their training and development.
  • Drive projects to improve process reliability, process flow, quality & FPY, improve productivity, and reduce operational cycle times and costs.
  • Owner for creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Provide resource/labor and production capacity analysis.
  • Provide feedback on requirements and needs to meet production schedule.
  • Evaluate and approve manufacturing infrastructure needs and costs.
  • Review, evaluate, and approve change orders.
  • Work with NPI team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the introduction processes, documents, material preparations, and tooling/fixtures through the following activities:  WO BOM Validation  Shop Floor Control System Routing  Production Flow Diagram  Create, validate, and maintain Work Instructions  Pack Out Instructions
  • Accountable for Change Order Management including:  Assess, document and communicate all production floor and/or customer driven changes.  Initiate and follow up with ECN/MCO changes and disposition.  Update all applicable work instructions.  Implement ECO/MCO changes in production; provide training to line operators.
