About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager oversees all manufacturing engineering aspects critical to the company's operations. This role involves leading the manufacturing engineering team, ensuring efficient product flow, tooling, and standard work procedures, while also engaging in technical exchanges with customers and developing the manufacturing engineering culture within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field.
  • Ten years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Management experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and practices.
  • Experience in Design to Specification and Build to Print processes.
  • Experience with line flow, standard work, tooling, and LEAN manufacturing applications.
  • Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) experience.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, and Inventor (or SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Product development, and Kaizen activities.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a group constructively and productively.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and direct the manufacturing engineering team including tool design.
  • Provide leadership and direction in manufacturing regarding product flow, tooling, and standard work procedures.
  • Offer input for manufacturability and direct non-recurrent costs.
  • Facilitate technical information exchange with customers.
  • Implement manufacturing processes that are process-dependent.
  • Develop and mature the manufacturing engineering culture and infrastructure.
  • Review and recommend policies and procedures to maximize department performance.
  • Act as a team leader for the cause and corrective action team, collaborating with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering functions.
  • Support manufacturing and other departments as an internal customer.
