About The Position

PHINIA is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at our Aftermarket Remanufacturing Plant in Troy, MI. This person will primarily be responsible for assisting the engineering team with developing new processes for the remanufacture of powertrain components and the implementation of innovative assembly and test equipment to meet OEM customer requirements. In addition, other tasks will include continuous improvement activities on existing production lines and the advancement of engineering capabilities at the Troy plant.

Nice To Haves

  • General understanding of Engineering Drawings and ability to interpret them (preferred).
  • Knowledge in statistics, FMEA, Control Plan APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, DOE and product and process capability (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing process (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that are required to build relationships with team members.
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Systems and Vision systems.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, C++, or VB.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support in identifying and implementing new and innovative remanufacturing methods.
  • Develop remanufacturing assembly and test equipment and processes.
  • Provides process engineering and support of existing processes.
  • Lead assigned projects to timely completion.
  • Project Manage and lead activities for new projects.
  • Ability to find new opportunities and drive projects to completion.
