About The Position

Otis Elevator Company is seeking highly motivated candidates for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern position. This full-time, paid summer internship, typically 10-12 weeks from May/June 2026, offers a rewarding and challenging opportunity to learn, grow, and develop through meaningful projects that drive the business. Interns will gain hands-on experience and broaden their skills within the Otis culture, which emphasizes collaboration, empowerment, and trust. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will assist with multiple projects in the Manufacturing Department, providing an introduction to Manufacturing Engineering functions and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves engaging with various stakeholders within the Otis Elevator organization and developing project management and customer service skills. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering
  • Ability to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environment
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Needs to be self-motivated and able to manage several simultaneous projects and responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical skills and technical skills are required

Responsibilities

  • Support new programs/products through production and ensure products meet cost, delivery, and customer/internal specifications requirements including coordinating efforts with product, manufacturing, and quality engineering
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and work instructions
  • Identify all tools and fixtures required to manufacture the product to specifications
  • Ensure a safe working environment is set and maintained
  • Develop, design, acquire or create new equipment for improved productivity, efficiency, and safety
  • Develop excellent documentation of processes and follow change management processes when changes occur
  • Utilize Lean principles to set up and improve work cell
