About The Position

We are looking for manufacturing engineering student that has a strong hands-on skill set with a broad range of manufacturing processes, equipment, assembly methods, tooling, lean production, inventory management, and documentation practices. You will expand your hands-on experience with multiple manufacturing and assembly methods. You will have exposure to advanced medical x-ray imaging components and the manufacturing and design challenges associated with managing thermal loads in high voltage electro-mechanical systems within the Medical Device Industry. You will be working with a production line building medical x-ray imaging components. You will be joining a diverse engineering and production groups that develops and integrates a high voltage imaging chain for major and developing OEM partners and has a lot of fun doing it. Job Description What you will do: You will work closely with both an engineering and operations mentor and collaborate with broader product engineering and operations teams in our Dual Ended product line in general. Learn X-Ray safety procedures Learn the housing test area, equipment, processes, and tests performed in the area Identify with mentors 3-5 fixtures, tools, processes, and procedures that can improved for operations to better perform the testing. These could include SMED (single minute exchange of die) type improvements, product flow, value stream mapping, documentation improvements, training videos/media, equipment setups, etc Own all aspects of updating the top 3 opportunities identified through design, test, refinement to improve those identified opportunities Document the improvements with approved systems and documentation practice What you will bring: Moderate hands-on experience with common manufacturing processes and assembly methods (machining, forming, bending, casting, molding, fastening methods, welding, brazing, 3D printing, etc.) Working knowledge of metals (steels, copper, refractory), ceramics, and polymers Moderate hands-on experience in functional testing and troubleshooting thermo-mechanical and electro-mechanical devices (heat exchangers, mechanical assemblies, electro-magnetic components, x-ray generators, etc.) Familiar with test equipment, data collection methods, lean manufacturing principles and methods Demonstrated use of scientific method – this is key! Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting
