Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2025 Manufacturing Engineer Intern. In this role, you will be responsible for Process Design, Work Instruction Planning, and Aircraft Installation Support of machining and quick change assembly planning, evaluating designs for producibility, developing tooling and manufacturing plans for components, assemblies and installations. Interface with Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, Programs, Product Safety and the supply base in an effort to resolve issues relating to production installation of harness and component assemblies. During the design phase the candidate’s work be exposed to generating work instructions and ordering tooling to execute fabrication or procurement of details, assemblies and installations. At the Program level candidate will potentially work with the design engineers during basic and detail design phases to assure design is producible and can be fabricated to meet cost and schedule targets. The successful candidate will have basic understanding of manufacturing processes. Must be a US Citizen.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes
  • Proficient with CAD software: SolidWorks, Autodesk, etc...
  • Familiar with reading and creating drawings for precision machined components.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing/Machining
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be a US citizen

  • Experience in machining processes (turning, milling and grinding,
  • Planning of large assemblies
  • Familiarity with GD&T drawing requirements
  • Familiarity with safety protocols
  • Leadership skills working well in a team environment
