About The Position

SPX Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for a paid summer internship program in Olathe, Kansas. This role is part of the HVAC Cooling division, where SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high-quality industrial HVAC equipment. The intern will gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams on various engineering tasks related to design, analysis, testing, and product development. The internship focuses on continuous improvement efforts within the CI Engineering team.

Requirements

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering field.
• Must have completed their second year of engineering studies.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• High problem-solving skills and self-direction.
• Must be eligible to work in the US; company will not provide sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with technical drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude for machines and tools.
• Technical hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the CI team in executing technical activities on assigned projects.
• Create Standard Work Instructions.
• Create Total Productive Maintenance Plans.
• Perform activities such as Layout, Production Process Flow, and Material presentation.
• Support the 5S program.
• Improve Production area workspace for efficiency.
• Identify and execute small scale projects.
• Participate in Value Stream Mapping.
• Lead other projects as assigned or proposed.
