About The Position

TTM Technologies, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of technology products, including mission systems, radio frequency ("RF") components, RF microwave/microelectronic assemblies, and technologically advanced printed circuit boards ("PCB"s). TTM stands for time-to-market, representing how TTM's time-critical, one-stop design, engineering and manufacturing services enable customers to reduce the time required to develop new products and bring them to market. The Engineering Co-Op will collaborate across the organization on efforts involving design and programming of an electronic test system for quality and reliability improvement. This position is located in Binghamton, NY.

Requirements

  • Requires basic understand of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts and ability to create software algorithms to solve problems
  • Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Project management and structured problem solving with the ability to make data-based and ethical decisions
  • Eagerness to learn quickly and contribute to a significant project team goal
  • Capability for designing and analyzing experiments utilizing statistical tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including strong verbal, writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and participate effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Current college Junior earning bachelor's degree in engineering with understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software concepts
  • Experience in applying engineering concepts to solve problems

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively in a team to develop and program an electronic test system to perform a specific function
  • Utilize a structured engineering approach in system development that considers the ergonomics and software interface ease-of-use for end user
  • Collaborate with program mentors and champions to identify best methods for solving engineering problems
  • Define Bill of materials and help procure components as needed, balancing function with price/cost considerations.
  • Employ Design of Experiments (DOE) with test samples to verify and validate the prototype and/or final test system
  • Document the design and publish user guide
  • Present multiple project updates to the local leadership team
  • Limited travel required for workshops and trade shows
