This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer intern on the Z-fab microelectronics team who will apply Industrial and Chemical Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing operations to achieve site goals. This role's overarching responsibilities are improving quality, reducing costs, and improving safety and the flow of products through process improvements. This role will provide the opportunity for independent action AND working in a team environment of manufacturing engineers, production personnel, management, and other support organizations. You will be assigned to projects with high priority and visibility to improve this facility's capability to be the best manufacturing facility in the world.
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Nice To Haves
- Working towards a BS in Chemical Engineering.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environments.
- Strong background in Root Cause Analysis.
- Track record of driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday internship, that will run May - August
- Support day-to-day manufacturing processes including: Photolithography, Metrology, and Plating
- Conduct studies on cost control, cost reduction, inventory, and production record systems
- Develop and enhance fabrication processes
- Drive continuous improvement of process capability index
