About The Position

Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Injection Molding Engineering department, located in Ave Maria, FL, is responsible for supporting and developing new and existing injection molding products. We are searching for a student pursuing a Plastics Engineering degree to support the Injection Molding Engineering team. The successful candidate will perform Robust Mold Trials on existing tools to optimize processes and support validation activities. The role will be project based as well as support for current continuous improvement activities. This internship will run approximately from May 2026 – August 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.

Requirements

• Progress towards a college degree in Plastics Engineering Technology or related discipline required.
• Junior or senior preferred. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
• Knowledge of injection molding machine interface capability required.
• Experience with decoupled molding development required.

• Basic to intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal direction.

Responsibilities

• Conversion of MDS to MDM (machine to plastic variable processes).
• Complete capability studies on plastic variable processes.
• Work with team on floor for Engineering starts.
• Assist in completing Installation Qualifications (IQ), Operational Qualifications (OQ) and Performance Qualifications (PQ).
• Assist in completing First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.
• Troubleshoot injection molding defects.
• Other duties as assigned.
