Together, let’s redefine what is possible in orbit and beyond! Terran Orbital is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern – Cable & Harness to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director, Electronics Manufacturing, the Manufacturing Engineering Intern – Cable & Harness will get hands‑on experience designing cable harnesses, developing fixtures, and improving shop‑floor processes. This internship is perfect for someone who enjoys solving real manufacturing challenges and wants to build practical engineering skills in a fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Able to work full time, onsite in Irvine, CA for 8 – 12 weeks starting in June 2026 (no relocation stipend, must be local)
  • Basic SolidWorks skills (coursework or project experience acceptable)
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals
  • Interest in cable/harness fabrication and hands‑on manufacturing
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in an active shop‑floor environment
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Perform time studies and collect production data
  • Conduct shop‑floor walks to identify inefficiencies
  • Create shop‑floor diagrams, layout visuals, and process flows
  • Design and model fixtures and small tools (SolidWorks + 3D printing)
  • Create cable/harness drawings and basic electrical schematics
  • Develop and update work instructions and manufacturing documentation
  • Support 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma activities across work centers
