About The Position

The position involves directing and managing the Manufacturing Engineering group, including the Facility & Maintenance group. The role requires setting department-level HOSHIN Kanri targets to meet or exceed company goals, developing and managing group-level policies that support company procedures, and overseeing training for the Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance groups. The individual will lead and report on department targets and goals, including budgeting, labor, fixed assets, and future planning. Responsibilities also include reducing unplanned downtime, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring quality and cost reduction activities. The role requires managing new equipment installations and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 10 years of prior applicable experience in manufacturing.
  • 5 years management experience required.
  • Automotive experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Set Department Level HOSHIN Kanri Targets to meet/exceed company goals for Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Develop, follow, and manage group level policy which supports company policy & procedures.
  • Manage training for Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance groups.
  • Lead and report out department targets and goals including budgeting, labor, fixed assets, chart updates, schedules, graphs, tours, and future planning.
  • Lead the reduction of unplanned downtime for mass production and new equipment.
  • Lead continuous improvement for mass production and new equipment.
  • Lead the manufacturing feasibility of design changes and new designs.
  • Implement process design changes based on drawing revisions and maintain current drawings for each product.
  • Lead IATF16949 Implementation for the Manufacturing Engineering Group & Maintenance group.
  • Lead quality improvement and cost reduction activities including automation, reutilization, and other non-value-added work.
  • Manage new equipment installation and process preparation including scheduling and project milestone activities.
  • Ensure operation availability and machine cycle times meet company targets.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all equipment necessary to support new product launches.
  • Responsible for facility planning, procurement, and management.
  • Prepare management review material for monthly and company level reviews.
  • Ensure plant and OSHA safety requirements are met through proper maintenance planning.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure EPA compliance.
  • Set and meet department budget.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
