About The Position

Develop and own five (5) year manufacturing strategy for South Milwaukee. Responsible for strategic growth initatives at the plant and execution of projects to meet future capacity needs. Manage capital appropriation activities, including budget planning and execution activities to ensure utilization of yearly funds to improve the facility and meet growth goals. Owns manufacturing routings and works in collaboration with Engineer to Order (ETO) Engineering to ensure updated/accurate routing models for all product lines and processes. Manage cost out activities to meet annual cost out targets. Partner with Maintenance of Line (MOL) Engineering to ensure proper scope of work and assignment for broader engineering organization. Work with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Finance and Operations to ensure end-to-end operational goals are met / exceeded. Responsible for delivering 'Design for Manufacturability' and 'Design for Servicability' in collaboration with NPD Engineering. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process failures. Oversee development of equipment specifications, FAT/SAT, and commissioning. Responsible for leading adoption of smart manfucturing tools and strategies, including connected factory tools, MES, and other i4.0 initiatives. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians. Set priorities, assign work, and manage performance and career development. Lead and participate in kaizen events focused on standard work and waste elimination. Drive the implementation of manufacturing standards, error proofing, and other process controls. Responsible for managing installed capacity and bottleneck theory in each value stream and actively working with internal and external resources to reduce and/or eliminate constraints. Responsible for maintenance and facilities team. Manage Maintenance and Facilities leader and team to ensure proper oversight to preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. Maintain uptime and reliability of production and facility equipment while also ensuring compliance for regulatory items. Responsible for hiring, training, and developing key talent ensuring proper staff levels to execute plant strategy for our customers and markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, prefer Engineering degree
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or operations engineering
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing engineering leadership
  • Must be authorized to work in The United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Process focused with continuous improvement mindset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio, Project)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in managing large and complex manufacturing environments, where Configure to Order and Engineer to Order products are prevalent
  • Strong communication skills - use innovative techniques for influencing and driving change
  • SAP experience with Routing and BOM configurations and maintenance
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) Certifications and experience leading implementation of Lean tools and concepts
