About The Position

We are looking for a Spring 2026 (January - June) Manufacturing Engineering Co-op as part of the Operations Leadership Development Program with our Smart Infrastructure Electrical Products division. This position is based in Hingham, Massachusetts. This co-op will prepare you for a potential opportunity with our two-year rotational Operations Leadership Development Program and other entry-level roles upon graduation.

Requirements

  • Rising juniors and rising seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Industrial Systems Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or Supply Chain Management
  • Must be enrolled as a student at Northeastern University
  • Available to work 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday) from January 2026 to June 2026
  • Eligible candidates must have reliable job transportation and be located within 50 miles of Hingham, MA as this role does not provide housing or relocation support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, reporting, and documentation
  • Experience with CAD software for layout design and physical space planning
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret logistics, inventory, and production data for continuous improvement
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and implement changes in operations environments
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in Basic Operations Management, Lean, Value Stream Mapping, 3D Printing, Design of Experiments, and FMEA principles
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain environments
  • Ability to interpret and apply data-driven insights to optimize production and material flow
  • Familiarity with AI-aided modeling and programming tools to support process optimization and digital transformation initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Implementing Lean principles and Capex investments to accelerate operational efficiency
  • Enhancing the production of our world-class Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), serving the demand for reliable critical power solutions
  • Closely collaborating with Operations, Quality Engineers and other Manufacturing Engineers to drive change management to take waste out of our manufacturing processes
  • Researching and implementing AGV (Assisted Guide Vehicles) on the shop floor to optimize material movements
  • Using pick LED to streamline Base Switch Kitting process for fabricated parts
  • Developing expertise in change management, business finance, and root cause analysis

Benefits

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year.
