About The Position

Play a key role in standing up a new manufacturing facility to support a major new program. Help shape production operations at this facility from the ground up, and work on NPI to turn innovative designs from concept into reality. Bridge the gap between production and engineering to ensure products are manufacturable and assemblies are repeatable. Use your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to drive measurable impacts on cost, schedule, and production flow.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience supporting a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of process documentation, work instructions, and production flow.
  • Ability to read and redline engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and test procedures.
  • Proficient in solid modeling software for tooling design.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with MES, ERP, and PLM systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with facility startup, production floor setup, or new program PRR activities.
  • Experience with NPI and transition to production.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and DFM/DFA practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement or cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on production support to resolve technical issues and minimize downtime.
  • Develop, maintain, and approve manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routers, and manufacturing plans through our MES, TIPSFE.
  • Review and redline engineering drawings, BOMs, and other documentation to enhance producibility and correct errors.
  • Support NPI efforts through tooling assessment and procurement, process validation, first article builds, and resource planning.
  • Participate in the setup and flow optimization of the production floor in the new facility.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions on the production floor.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team in engineering, quality, planning, and supply chain to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Identify and execute cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Support operator training.
  • Use solid modeling software (SolidWorks) to design and create custom tooling as necessary. Fabricate in-house with an FDM printer or facilitate external fabrication as needed.
  • Uphold compliance with internal AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and QMS documentation.
