Caterpillar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Athens, GA. In this role, you will provide manufacturing engineering support for a particular zone of the assembly line ensuring velocity and quality for the zone. You will be responsible for the creation and communication of work instructions, creating machine routings using SAP, and managing capital projects related to Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost. Additionally, you will design and implement lifting devices and any fixturing required for machine ease of assembly, address internal and external quality issues in relation to your zone of responsibility, manage capacity and model mix changes, and create and modify the build process for New Product Introduction (NPI) or Continuous Improvement. A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies, Manufacturing Processes, and Decision Making and Critical Thinking. Top candidates may also have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or Engineering Technology curricula, experience in manufacturing/operations as an intern or co-op, knowledge of engineering concepts, and manufacturing-related skills such as the ability to read prints/specifications, budget or project management, and SAP.
