About The Position

This position will support manufacturing and process development activities at Hitachi Energy's Mount Pleasant, PA facility, with ownership of continuous improvement projects, production process optimization, and cross-functional support for high-voltage product lines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing process development, industrial engineering, or production process optimization.
• Strong understanding of process flow, equipment layout design, work standardization, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Experience working in high-mix, low-volume or engineered-to-order environments is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles; certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently on complex projects and coach less experienced team members.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with cross-functional teams (design, test, quality, and production).
• Strong time management and project management abilities to prioritize initiatives and drive results.
• Flexibility to work extended hours when needed to support production and testing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead process optimization and equipment layout improvements to increase efficiency in assembly and high-voltage test processes.
• Develop manufacturing procedures, standard work, and tooling concepts, focusing on repeatability, cost reduction, and throughput.
• Identify and resolve manufacturing and testing bottlenecks, working cross-functionally with design engineering, quality, and production teams.
• Support the integration of new testing methods and manufacturing technologies into full-scale production.
• Monitor key production metrics (OEE, quality, cycle time) and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Support root cause analysis, failure investigations, and continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
• Develop and maintain training materials and work instructions for technicians and operators.
• Drive process standardization across product lines to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and participate in process improvement and Kaizen activities.
