Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated systematic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to enhance and implement automation in electrical and mechanical systems, including process mapping and analysis
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous automotive manufacturing experience a plus
  • At least 2 years of direct experience with production equipment and maintenance
  • Ability to work with existing PLC to troubleshoot, add sensors, add delays, etc.
  • Ability to drive a robot, recover, teach positions, add minor program changes
  • Familiarity with materials science, GD&T, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and PLC's
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment and maintenance
  • Experience in the design and application of production tooling
  • Strong skills in managing projects and resolving issues effectively
  • Actively seeks areas for improvement and provides solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Create processes (sequences, methods, tooling, parameters, and instructions) for new product introductions
  • Ensure that new process qualification plans are developed and executed promptly
  • Define, stabilize, enhance, and support both new and existing processes
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for defined processes, including SOPs, work instructions, Job Safety Analysis, PFMEA, control plans, and First Article inspection sheets
  • Implement timely and systematic improvements to process stability and performance through effective problem scoping, root cause analysis, experimentation, and the validation of solutions
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to minimize waste and optimize value flow throughout the ship
  • Systematically assess innovative manufacturing technologies and manage projects to implement these technologies effectively
  • Work alongside engineering from headquarters to evaluate manufacturability and suggest practical design changes
  • Provide guidance on changes in Bill of Materials (BOM's), suppliers, and other factors impacting product form, fit, and function
  • Lead improvement initiatives from start to completion
  • Ability to interpret data, conduct experiments, and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in conveying complex information clearly to team members, stakeholders, and management
  • Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance.
