About The Position

The manufacturing engineer is responsible for a variety of duties in the manufacturing operation, engineering, and project management, as well as proposing and implementing efficient manufacturing methods to increase productivity, reduce cost, and facilitate the production process. Individuals in this position work on supporting the operators and troubleshooting processes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
A minimum 5-year record of successful large scale business optimization projects in a manufacturing environment is required. preferably thermal, HVAC system.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and overall computer skills.
Knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis and data visualization software.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience implementing Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Value stream mapping in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to read and evaluate mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, Inventor, AutoCAD drawing software.

Nice To Haves

A strong knowledge and fluency in Inventor and 3D modeling software, is required.
Knowledge of FEA is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate current products and work to improve existing products.
Initiate corrective actions by investigating processes and manufacturing in fabrication and assembly.
Collect, analyze, and present (Power BI) data in SQL database.
Develop applications for tracking part on the floor.
Perform statistical analyses on processes to evaluate waste, yields, cost, saving, and manufacturing potential.
Evaluate and optimize sheet metal nesting and waste reduction.
Evaluate manufacturing processes to recommend and direct possible improvement and implementation roadmap.
Design and modify fixtures, tools, and jigs to increase production efficiency and capacity.
Write new standard operation procedures (SOPs) and modify existing work instructions.
Work with other departments including shop floor, sale application engineers, buyers, and finance.
Conduct root cause analysis and masters using fishbone, 5Whys, 6M, etc. to prevent future occurrence.
Manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same time in agile and waterfall project management.
Creates project proposals and purchase requests; including cost calculations, saving, and Return on Investment (ROI).
Manage, prepare, and defend capital expense request/budget.
Runs tests to determine viability for new product or improvement to existing products. Evaluates results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
