About The Position

AmeriWater is a long-established industry leader in the design, manufacture, installation and supply of water purification systems and services for dialysis, industrial and healthcare applications. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in Dayton, Ohio! Position Summary Responsible for manufacturing process development and support, product introduction, manufacturing project management, as well as general manufacturing support and team participation. This position works closely with team members from safety, production, material planning, quality engineering, and company leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems for work order routings and BOM.
  • Experience with engineering design software.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in cost reduction and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Materials Planning, Production, and Quality teams.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying lean principles in manufacturing.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and BI Reporting; experience with ERP systems a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts as needed to support operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Process Design, Implementation, and Support
  • Apply Lean principles to design manufacturing processes.
  • Identity, document, and sequence work content required for manufacturing process steps.
  • Identify, quote, and source materials and tooling needed for manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate with design engineering for engineering drawing revisions and BOM revisions for improved manufacturability and accuracy.
  • Estimate cycle times, process capacities, and staffing requirements.
  • Coordinate with production planning for material replenishment and presentation.
  • Coordinate with production planning to create and update routings/ERP system.
  • Design and implement quality control steps within the manufacturing process.
  • Create and maintain work instructions and coordinate with the production team for accuracy and implementation.
  • Support the implementation and use of visual management tools.
  • New Product Implementation
  • Participate in product design review and provide input on changes to optimize ability to manufacture.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine manufacturing process and required tooling.
  • Support research and development activities.
  • Conduct sample tests to validate manufacturing process prior to production start.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction
  • Plan and implement annual cost reduction activities.
  • Participate in lean initiatives to optimize processes and eliminate waste.
  • Lead lean events in support of continuous improvement.
