We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the SyBridge additive team at our Itasca, Illinois facility. This individual will work closely with both Manufacturing and Commercial teams to scope and manage additively manufactured projects from the early DFM review all the way to production kickoff. This role is required to be onsite at our Itasca facility.

  • Analyze CAD data, 2D drawings, BOMs and other technical documents to evaluate scope of work and manufacturability for a given project
  • Take the lead on advising customers on manufacturability and operate as a technical resource for the Commercial team
  • Perform live design reviews with customers by reviewing CAD in customer meetings
  • Lead in the refinement of design changes to improve cost, quality and manufacturability
  • Optimize and lattice 3D files to meet Customer requirements
  • Advise on how to optimize for costs and quality
  • Coordinate on quality expectations and inspection plans
  • Lead in the costing of new opportunities inclusive of both quick-turn and production applications
  • Troubleshoot in-process manufacturing and part design issues
  • Act as conduit between quality and customer on any additive quality issues
  • Support internal continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve our standard operating procedures
  • Subject matter expertise in AM part design
  • Experience interacting with, creating, and editing STL files
  • Proficiency in understanding part drawing specifications, including complex GD&T and critical feature recognition
  • Able to create clear and concise SOP's for operations execution
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and communicating with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Siemens NX
  • Experience with Carbon 3D printing technology and workflows
  • Experience with Netfabb software
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing and/or Six Sigma
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • 4-year engineering degree from an accredited university
