About The Position

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, integration, throughput, and security of the products delivered. It is a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As part of the Leo team, you will solve difficult problems where resolutions have high impact, and help create a brand new set of launch site processes and standards. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while maintaining the highest standards of execution. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead a team of technicians through satellite integration operations and will support other final assembly areas. This individual will work closely with other launch operations and satellite manufacturing teams. The Manufacturing Engineer implements test requirements, designs and establishes the payload processing facility satellite integration work cell, supports facility and equipment planning, authors procedures, implements process controls, and supports continuous improvement. The satellite integration Manufacturing Engineer will spend the majority of their day on the shop floor leading their team through satellite to dispenser mating operations. They will work with other engineering teams, quality, and manufacturing teams to set up and maintain the satellite integration equipment. They will address root cause of failures and issues, and implement production control and optimization strategies. They will implement engineering best practices in a safe and repeatable manner, implement efficiency improvements and reduce non-conformances. The satellite Manufacturing Engineer will have experience in space hardware integration and test, with particular focus on handling flight hardware and use of EGSE for flight hardware testing. We want individuals who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond what is possible today. Here at Amazon, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. Amazon has ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and host annual and ongoing learning experiences. At Amazon, our mission is to be the most customer-centric company on Earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright and driven people. We're dedicated to supporting new team members. Our team has a broad mix of experience levels and Amazon tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship.
