Are you ready to go beyond? 2 open positions Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Heat Treat organization and will learn about heat treatment and how it relates to resulting material properties. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all aspects of part maturation from raw material to end use. Develop and implement plans that are in line with the business strategy to further our world class technology portfolio. Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets. Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of aerospace disk forgings; assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigations. Own relentless RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) for correcting non-conformance in the part families; perform DIVEs (Define, Investigate, Verify, Ensure); implement and monitor corrective actions; monitor and report on the health of a part family; monitoring the non-conformances and how the part ‘runs’ compared to ‘standard’ times. Lead the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) journey to continuously improve the quality and exceed customer’s expectations; develop disk process using statistical methods that meet or exceed the business objective for process control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 2 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, quality or relatable industrial environment or a Master's degree and minimum 1 year of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, quality or relatable industrial environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficiency utilizing CAD software for 3D modeling and drawing creation
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN
