  • Put Safety first at all times, never compromise on safety for the obtainment of other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers.
  • Develop and improve aerospace composite manufacturing processes and methods.
  • Define criteria for production readiness, and qualify developed processes, procedures and tooling fixtures in support of transition to production.
  • Ensure proper production documentation including work instructions and travelers have been created or reviewed in order to continued production flow.
  • Review product made with engineering, manufacturing and quality to verify conformity and, when the product is non-conforming, assist in determining root cause and corrective action.
  • Identify and lead opportunities to improve the manufacturing process and other cost/benefit lean activities.
  • Support periodic engineering/technical project updates as needed by customer.

  • BS Engineering degree is required. Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience focused on manufacturing process development and manufacturing process improvement is required. Candidates more junior or more senior in this area of expertise are also encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings is required, with a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
  • Use of manual metrology instruments and understanding of proper measurement techniques is required.

  • Experience with aerospace composite manufacturing (i.e. Prepreg Layup, RTM/VARTM, autoclave processing, composite finishing processes) is ideal. Candidates who lack this product or market focus will need to demonstrate their aptitude to transfer their product/market skills into this environment.
  • Understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance from within a highly regulated industry (Aerospace, Medical Device, etc…) is preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft software (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio) to enable the creation of work instruction and other production documentation.
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, etc.) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of understanding of lean tools such as 5S, Visual Factory, and value stream mapping is desired.
