Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.E.) in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and peers
Ability to apply mathematical operations and/or statistical analysis to calculate standards, efficiency, capacity, etc.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Dimensional skill required
Initiative, ability to learn, oral and written communications, adaptability, team cooperation, planning and organization, and problem solution
Experience in the automotive industry and automation equipment
Strong interpersonal and computer skills including CAD
Experience with PLEX and PDM
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style

Responsibilities
Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment
Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment
Confers with management to implement plans and analyzes product or equipment specifications, performance requirements to determine product designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods
Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors
Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning
Confers with plant manager to clarify or resolve problems and develops design
Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout, tooling layouts, product design and detailed drawings and schematics
Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product
