About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is based in Orchard Park, NY. The Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing cells of new and existing products. Responsible for managing process documents, tooling and fixturing for programs, driving continuous improvement utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools, performing ergonomic assessments and providing typical Manufacturing Engineering rigor required for Aerospace Industry product realization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in: Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or similar internships/co-ops
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in helping develop new products and supporting proposal work
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing and Visual Control implementations
  • Experience in designing tooling used in the support of Assembly and Test products
  • Experience in Soldering, Wiring, Electrical assembly
  • Experience in Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS)
  • Experience in 2D/3D CAD software
  • Ability to work in a multi project, team environment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Safety, Ergonomics, and Management of Change activity in support of site safety goals.
  • Generate and revise Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Work Instructions
  • Identify new tooling needed and Maintain tooling, gauging, and test equipment for mature production
  • Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE) improvement
  • Support proposal development- ME hours, recurring hardware hours and risk assessment
  • Provide timely support in resolving manufacturing issues
  • Responsible for Work Cell Design, Integration and Validation
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and variation in processes focused on improving KPIs
  • Support 5S and visual management efforts in manufacturing areas
  • Support Product Conformance and Configuration Control requirements
