About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing manufacturing processes within our Hartland location. This position focuses on designing, implementing, and refining production systems to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO AS9100. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like the Toyota Production System and Value Stream Mapping. A key outcome of this role is to develop robust manufacturing workflows that support scalable operations and meet customer demands with precision. Ultimately, the Manufacturing Engineer will contribute to sustaining competitive advantage by integrating advanced machining techniques and manufacturing engineering principles into daily operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with CNC machining and machine tools.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO AS9100 quality management standards and compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or training in Value Stream Mapping and continuous improvement methodologies a plus
  • Strong skills in manufacturing operations management and process automation.
  • Experience working in regulated industries or environments requiring strict quality controls.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing software tools and data analysis platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and workflows to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Implement and maintain CNC machining operations, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to support accurate manufacturing and inspection.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Value Stream Mapping and Toyota Production System methodologies.
  • Manage and maintain machine tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with ISO AS9100 standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop documentation and training materials to support manufacturing best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor manufacturing operations metrics and report on performance, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancement.
