About The Position

Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering (VME) is a multi-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants. This position is for a Resident ME (GSR) on the local KCAP Manufacturing Program Team (MPT) with responsibility to Launch Future Model F150 Programs. Candidate will have responsibility to deliver Tooling, Processes, and Facility Actions to support New Model Changes, as well as lead Build Phases, identify and resolve feasibility issues, address Manufacturing AIMS issues, lead Cycle Line Layout development and 1A Drawing finalization. Will require awareness, knowledge, and understanding of FEDE, SCCAFs, PFMEAs, WERs, AIMS, Health Charts, VPS/APT, TEAMCENTER, CAD, EIS, and Ariba/Aurora applications Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multiple other organizations/personnel/Vendors Responsibilities: • Lead manufacturing assembly builds (DCV, TT, PP, MP1 and MP2) at Kansas City Assembly Plant for F150 New Model Programs (currently 26MY, 27MY and 27MY FHEV introduction) • Lead development and implementation of new/modified Assy tooling, Assy Processes and Facilities based on product and process changes • Awareness, knowledge, and understanding of FEDE, SCCAFs, PFMEAs, WERs, AIMS, Health Charts, VPS/APT, TEAMCENTER, EIS, and Ariba/Aurora Key Deliverables: • Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout the new model development program • Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at Kansas City Assy Plant. In addition, support tooling development and buy-offs at vendor facilities • Write/modify/maintain VPS process sheets and deliver Cycle Line Layouts including 1A drawings Workflow and Processes: • Use virtual tools (ie TeamCenter) to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for high-volume assembly operations, Assy Tooling & DC Tool interactions • Lead development of and delivery to a master schedule for the design, build, and implementation of Tooling and Facility projects • Lead identification, resolution, and closure of Final Assembly Engineering feasibility issues Collaboration and Interactions: • Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements • Ability to Collaborate with multifunctional activities (PD, STA, MP&L, NMP, Plant Production, Union Personnel) to resolve launch related issues with strong communication and interpersonal skills • Develop "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs Qualifications: BS in Engineering (preferred) OR equivalent (5+ years) work experience in an automotive production environment experience Preferred Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively collaborate with multifunctional activities (PD, MPL, NMP, Plant Launch and Production personnel, Union personnel) Experience with FEDE, SCCAFs, PFMEAs, WERS, AIMS, VPS/APT, TeamCenter, Ariba/Aurora applications Ability to Travel to Dearborn and Tooling/Supplier Vendors as req'd Live in Kansas City. This position is a salary grade 6 to 8. and ranges from $72,480 -162,120. Requirements
