Requirements

  • For roles outside of the USA: Basic experience in Manufacturing & Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, with a knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • Ability to prove U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee, or refugee) due to access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States (for this opening).
  • Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Perform manufacturing engineering tasks that do not require a 4-year degree, primarily tactical responsibilities.
  • Broaden knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • Provide support in specialized technical fields, while acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
  • Use a basic understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work.
  • Understand how own team's work integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Make decisions within a defined framework, with some autonomy.
  • Resolve issues requiring good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Lead a junior team (if required).
  • Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE (for customer-facing roles).
  • Explain technical information to others.
