About The Position

This role is for a Manufacturing Engineer at GE Aerospace, focusing on driving quality controls and improvements for the site while also developing technical expertise. The position involves ownership of both quality assurance and quality control, encompassing products, services, and manufacturing processes. This includes ensuring conformance in manufacturing, controlling incoming goods, and conducting product inspections. The role requires broadening knowledge within the technical discipline to execute policy and strategy, with a basic understanding of key business drivers. The engineer will resolve issues within established procedures, consulting senior team members for complex problems. Good interpersonal skills are essential, and the role may involve leading a junior team. For customer-facing aspects, the engineer will develop strong customer relationships and act as an interface, explaining technical information to others. Employment is contingent upon meeting U.S. Person status due to access to export-controlled information. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).
  • Ability to prove U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, granted asylee or refugee status) due to access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Help drive quality controls and improvements for the site.
  • Build out own technical know how.
  • Own quality assurance and quality control.
  • Ensure quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
  • Broaden knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • Use understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work.
  • Understand how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Make decisions within a defined framework (may have some autonomy).
  • Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Lead a junior team (may be required).
  • Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE (for customer facing roles).
  • Explain technical information to others.
