Responsible for design, development, improvement, troubleshooting, implementation, and evaluation of processes and equipment. This role involves helping to develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and systems, and improving new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes. The engineer will support manufacturing with daily operational problems through hands-on troubleshooting using root cause analysis and corrective/preventive measures. Coordination of product design changes and participation in FMEA development and improvements are also key. The position oversees and coordinates the design and build of production equipment, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes, with a focus on improving operator safety, reducing labor, improving quality, and reducing waste of materials and utilities. It also involves analyzing equipment operations, processes, and associate procedures to determine and improve production efficiency, ergonomics, safety, workflow, layout, and maintenance-related issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives while driving Lean and 5S. The engineer will participate in the development and review of all processes and work instructions to ensure accuracy, standardization, and conformance to actual procedures, revising as needed, and ensuring equipment accuracy, reliability, and efficiency with preventative maintenance procedures. The role also identifies and improves key manufacturing processes to provide stable and effective equipment to maintain quality, cost, and delivery goals, and documents and summarizes R&D and improvement activity to maximize SRED tax credits with adequate supporting documentation.
