Manufacturing Engineer
About The Position
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Job Duties and Responsibilities Establish optimized process parameters and identify / troubleshoot processing problems for all processes in the facility. Lead engineering support team for processing. Lead New Product Launches Responsible for all communications and contacts with appropriate discipline concerning all processing issues. (Product Design, Sales, Material Suppliers, Tool Shops, Production, Automation, Program Managers, etc.) Oversee all tooling work for repairs, revisions and new designs of molds/tools. Identify potential tooling modifications to improve processes, reduce scrap & downtime. Maintain all documentation and applicable media associated with processing and tooling. (process sheets, tool tracking, parameter-change forms, APQP etc.) Startup processes: load programs, verify material, tool temperature, die safety, ensure stable process, submit first piece to tooling coordinator and quality control. Involvement in Kaizen, DOS, Lean and Continuous Improvement. Lead and/or support 8D (Problem solving) and APQP Teams (PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Flow Charts). Lead new business quote process.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Engineering (2yr. or 4yr. degree) or 5 yrs. Experience in related field.
- Experience in processing and manufacturing is preferred.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people in a professional manner.
- Must be self-directed and motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility.
- Willing and able to work excess hours when necessary.
- Must be able to travel as required to customers and suppliers.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) is preferred.
