We boldly go. Trane Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Clarksville,TN. In this role, you will coordinate, organize and supervise production process methods and engineering activities that enable production. This includes sustaining engineering, new product launch processes and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining production processes to drive quality and efficiency and to develop manufacturing plans which improve operations competitiveness.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering or Engineering Technologies degree preferred
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in assembly manufacturing environment
  • Ability to quickly assess manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing
  • Knowledge of basic design and manufacturing datum development and its effect in manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

  • Develop and define concepts and manufacturing processes for, and as an integral part of, all new product introductions and product enhancement programs, using advanced engineering techniques such as DFM / DFA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly), FMEA, 3P (Production, Preparation Process), 7-Ways, and Lean Six Sigma Methodology
  • Assumes responsibility for Capital planning, CER creations and Approvals, Capital Project Timing and Implementation, Capital Spending and Budgeting/ Assumes responsibility for Plant VA/VE Savings
  • Ensures all equipment meets OSHA compliant safety regulations
  • Drives engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including: PFMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Dynamic Control Plans (DCP), Lean Tools, Project Management and Simultaneous Engineering
  • Manages, develops and improves manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times.
