About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering position is a hands-on role supporting the production of products through the setup, operation, and improvement of assembly and automated equipment. This role works directly on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot issues, introduce new processes, support equipment changes, and ensure product builds meet safety and quality standards. The Engineer will also assist with new tooling and fixture development and play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives. The person in this role must be action oriented with a strategic mindset.

Requirements

  • Hands-on manufacturing experience involving mechanical assembly and/or automated equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to read drawings, work instructions, and use measurement tools.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic machine controls and concepts.
  • Comfortable operating hand tools, power tools, and basic machining or fabrication equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical degree or certification. Focus in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical Systems, or other related fields.
  • Experience with CNC machinery, robotics, or PLC-based equipment troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with fixture and tooling setup and development.
  • Basic CAD experience (AutoCAD / SolidWorks) for viewing and understanding part and tooling designs.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety requirements and actively participate in improving safe work practices and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Support daily production by identifying and resolving issues that impact product quality, equipment uptime, and cycle time.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation-related problems on assembly and CNC/robotic equipment.
  • Perform equipment setups, adjustments, offsets, and basic programming or teaching on CNC machining centers and robotic cells.
  • Assist with developing and implementing new workstations, assembly methods, material flow improvements, and equipment upgrades.
  • Build, modify, and install fixtures, tooling, jigs, and small machined parts to support production needs.
  • Train operators and maintenance team members on processes, equipment operation, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Maintain and update standard work, process documentation, and assembly instructions as changes are introduced.
  • Support prototype builds, product trials, and the launch of new or revised Forks product designs.
  • Use lean tools (5S, visual controls, root cause analysis, etc.) to drive improvements in safety, cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Stop production and escalate issues if components, equipment, or processes are found to be out of specification.
