About The Position

Primary Purpose The Manufacturing Engineer is a high-impact, hands-on role dedicated to the design, improvement, and implementation of production processes. By focusing on SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost), you will ensure production teams successfully fabricate and assemble products to exact specifications. You will serve as a bridge between Operations and Engineering, driving New Product Implementation (NPI) success through optimized plant layouts, ergonomic design, and 5S strategies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related hands-on field experience. Focused experience in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering is highly desired.
  • CAD experience, with exposure/certification to design software such as Solid Works
  • Computer skills to utilize various databases, spreadsheets, word processing and time management programs.
  • An understanding of TQM concepts and QMS standards.
  • Experience in work cell/plant layout that addresses space constraints, ergonomics, safety, and lean principles
  • Experience with ERP systems: System maintenance and reporting.
  • Experience in driving/leading LEAN/Six Sigma activities.
  • Ability to work independently and within team environment.
  • Ability to use logic to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers and peers; both written and verbally
  • A mechanical design aptitude. Direct experience working with motors, wheels, bearings, levers, electrical circuits, fabrication, fixture design, robotic programming, and machine assembly.
  • Experience in driving/leading LEAN/Six Sigma activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Working technical knowledge within the aerial work platform and/or hydraulic lift industry.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering with exposure to Industrial Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Identify and resolve production bottlenecks; implement technical solutions for process-related problems in a timely manner.
  • Standard Work & Lean: Drive operational excellence through time studies, task balancing, one-piece-flow, and aggressive waste elimination.
  • Facility & Cell Design: Orchestrate physical line layouts to maximize space utilization, safety, and workforce efficiency.
  • NPI & DFM: Partner with Design Engineering during the NPI phase to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Supply Chain, Quality, and Vendors to maintain design standards and reduce internal/customer cost of ownership.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive work instructions, SOPs, and operator/maintenance manuals for internal teams and end-users.
  • Capital Projects: Lead the investigation, cost estimation, and implementation of capital equipment and advanced manufacturing technology.
  • Technical Support: Act as a subject matter expert for internal teams and provide occasional customer technical support (on-site or remote).
  • Fixtures and Jigs: Lead the development of production tooling, including specialized fixtures and jigs, during the NPI phase to bridge the gap between design prototypes and scalable, high-quality manufacturing.
  • Quality Control: Monitor quality metrics to identify trends, leading cross-functional teams in the resolution of defects and the formal documentation of improved manufacturing standards.
  • May perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
