About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer supports production operations by assisting in the development, improvement, and documentation of manufacturing processes. The role focuses on driving efficiency, quality, and safety while gaining hands-on exposure to manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling, and Lean practices. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and spend significant time on the production floor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Welding Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (internships acceptable).
  • Basic proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work with data.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, bend stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule inclusive of overtime and weekends depending on business needs
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States with reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work in both shop and office environments.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, improving, and documenting manufacturing processes and standard work.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools such as 5S, waste elimination, time studies, and workflow optimization.
  • Use CAD to create/update layouts, tooling concepts, fixtures, and workstation setups.
  • Assist in designing or modifying fixtures, tools, and process aids to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Participate in new product introduction activities including method development and documentation.
  • Support process capability, quality checks, and testing activities as required.
  • Create and maintain routings, SOPs, work instructions, and production reports.
  • Work hands-on with operators to learn manufacturing processes and gather insights for improvement.
  • Assist with training operators on new or updated methods or work instructions.
  • Respond to daily production issues and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Other tasks in support of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth as directed my supervisor.
