The Manufacturing Engineer role will be responsible for creating/managing/maintaining all CNC machine programming as well as tooling/fixturing for both CNC and manual machine centers to include lathes, mills and 5 axis machine center. The ME role will also participate, and possibly lead, in all Continuous Improvement/Lean/CAPEX projects throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of metal cutting tools and applications
  • Solidworks/Camworks program creation
  • Strong knowledge of workholding/fixturing for lathes and mills
  • Strong knowledge of appropriate feeds and speeds for fiberglass, stainless steel and other materials
  • Strong knowledge of CAPEX and ROI analysis
  • Ability to assist in design and machining of special fixtures for materials testing

Nice To Haves

  • Green Belt certification or better in Continuous Improvement/Lean projects
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with Mazak and Haas machines/controls
  • Good people skills
  • Time management/multi-tasking skills
  • Team player who can assume an indirect Leadership role as needed

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and maintain CNC programs
  • Maximize efficiency of machines
  • Create new cut programs for waterjet as needed daily
  • Maximize cut sheets to decrease scrap
  • Create or update work instructions for each manufacturing process
  • Create or update routings and Production BOMs
  • Answer questions from the shop
  • Assist with trainings to new hires in the shop
  • Manage all molds in good working condition and quantity
  • Design jigs and fixtures per Production needs
  • Support test technician for pump setup and tests
  • Work on R&D projects
  • Assist with RGA (Returned Goods Authorization) evaluations
  • Prepare CAPEX and ROI for business approval and track approved CAPEX projects
  • Look into new technology of components within our process
  • Lead and implement dual sourcing strategy for all key materials
  • Utilize LEAN/Six Sigma tools to improve efficiency and workflows in our shop
