About The Position

This position is responsible for evaluating and improving plant performance in the areas of safety, quality, production output, and operating cost. It is a hands-on role that involves performing research, conducting experiments, and gathering data in a production environment while leading action teams. The candidate will be required to develop proficiency in identifying inefficiencies, presenting findings, and justifying recommendations in a data-focused manner to all levels of leadership to drive improvement. There is an opportunity to study complex production processes, recommend improvements utilizing the Boise Improvement Cycle, and gain exposure to multiple departments. Successful candidates will develop broad, comprehensive knowledge and experience of the overall business in a plant environment. Areas of involvement will include but are not limited to: safety, manufacturing processes and products, supervision, human resources, process improvement, engineering, finance, special projects, etc. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a STEM related field.
  • 0-4 years of experience in a related job function.
  • Ability to understand and apply mathematical calculations and concepts.
  • Proficient computer skills in various applications.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Comfortable working in a plant environment with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Continuous manufacturing operation experience.
  • Knowledge of wood products.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience in facilitation, troubleshooting, and process controls.
